Heal and Grow
Counseling on Mercer Island

Picture
I work with intellectually gifted, high achieving, creative, and artistically talented individuals who want to reduce anxiety and depression, heal trauma, strengthen relationships, increase productivity, learn positive self-care habits, make important career decisions,  return to work after a career break, and resolve wounds underlying addictive patterns.

My adult clients are entrepreneurs creating new businesses, visionary CEOs and senior VPs, artists (writers, journalists, film makers, dancers, visual artists, designers, musicians, animators, game designers, etc.), healers (doctors, counselors, and social change makers). Gifted teens may be challenged by expectations of high performance, problems socializing, and anxiety around transitioning into college and adulthood.

I am passionately committed to helping you:
  • reduce stress and worry,
  • improve concentration and productivity,
  • cope effectively with life challenges,
  • discover happiness,
  • enjoy fulfilling relationships,
  • understand and transform creative block,
  • achieve goals,
  • establish healthy boundaries,
  • learn skills,
  • lessen chronic pain,
  • resolve trauma,
  • cope with the demands of parenting chronically ill, disabled children,
  • change self-defeating patterns,
  • practice good self-care, and
  • find that ever moving point of balance.

As a mental health counselor for adults and teens, I provide nonjudgmental caring and  passionate support. Issues addressed include:
  • healing from physical, emotional, verbal, or sexual abuse using EMDR (eye motion desensitization and reprocessing);
  • traumatic past experiences, wounding family patterns, grief, and loss that contaminate the present;
  • challenges of being intellectually gifted, creative, or artistically talented;
  • optimal marriage and divorce adjustment;
  • anxiety, phobias, and fear;
  • chronic pain management especially fibromyalgia;
  • managing complex medical needs;
  • improving relationships at work, at home, at school, with friends and family  (communication skills, intimacy, trust, partnership problem solving);
  • return to career after extended absence;
  • making major career changes;
  • family patterns and personal experiences that led to addiction;
  • alleviating depression and reducing anxiety;
  • poor self-esteem, social isolation; and
  • how to experience feeling content, fulfilled, creative, appreciative, and joyful.
